Our story
All Saints Junior School (ASJS) was one of the first free schools to open in the country. The school was founded by parents under the name All Saints Action Group (ASAG), working in partnership with a multi-academy trust to meet a demand for school places in Reading.
The school, sponsored by Anthem Schools Trust (formerly CfBT Schools Trust), opened in September 2011 with just 13 Year 3 pupils, initially finding its temporary home in a local church hall while building work on the site of the main school was completed. The project to create the school involved new building work and the refurbishment of August House, a Victorian Villa.
Then, in September 2012, the school finally moved to its permanent location where it has gone from strength to strength, receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted in its first inspection and being voted ‘Best School’ in the Pride of Reading Awards in 2013 before eventually reaching its full capacity of 100 pupils in September 2014.
